TRUMP V BIDEN: A HISTORIC ELECTION

TRUMP V BIDEN
Democracy is “government of, by and for the people”.
-Abraham Lincoln

In the midst of a pandemic, the oldest democracy in the world is having     its election for Commander in chief and it's one hell of an election. Let's talk a bit about the candidates now.
In the United States, there are two major parties. democratic party and the Republican party (GOP). Every four years in the united states the president is elected by a nationwide vote and the process of in-party election is known as primaries.
Both parties have various candidates that stand for the primary and then from them only one is elected for the party ticket of the particular party. E.g. The Democratic primary race started on  Feb. 3, 2020, and ended on Aug 11, 2020, and had one of the most diverse candidates. Democratic party had its first openly gay candidate named Mayor Pete Buttigieg, the first Asian American candidate named Andrew Yang also a whole lot of female candidates Sen. Elizabeth Warren Sen. Amy Klobuchar,  Sen. Kamala Harris, Rep.Tulsi Gabbard. Some special old-time faces Sen. Bernie Sanders and  Vice President Joe Biden. All of them fighting against each other to defeat one man the Current President of the United States of America Donald.J.Trump and also the Republican Nominee for the presidency. It all started around 2017  in just 8 months into the Trump administration’s all things were working smoothly and then John Delaney a democratic Senator filed his candidacy for the Democratic primary. After that Tech Entrepreneur Andrew Yang also announced his candidacy. Later, Many more big names from Sen. Elizabeth Warren to Sen. Bernie Sanders all announced their candidacy.
First Presidential Debate
These elections were followed by tough questions and also a few dramatics. Once on a debate Sen. Bernie Sanders called Sen. Elizabeth Warren a liar and the aftermath of that was recorded on the post-debate audio. Then came Super Tuesday from Mar 3 to Mar 10 fourteen states had their primary voting and the super Tuesday was only about one-man Former Vice President Joe Biden. Joe Biden won Ten out of fourteen states on super Tuesday he was followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders.

The first Democratic primary election was in Iowa and it was one hell of an election because there are two types of voting in the united states the first is the traditional ballot and the caucus. (1)In conventions, where the membership from different parts of the organization may gather, each separate group within the organization may meet before the convention as a caucus. Each caucus may decide how the group would vote on various issues that may come up at the convention.
So, the first primary was in Iowa and it had a caucus style of voting and it was digital this time and because of the app, the calculation of the results took a long time. And after the long wait was over the Former Vice President Joe Biden won the primary followed by Mayor Pete Buttigieg and in third place was Sen. Bernie Sanders.
In the united states, the presidential candidate is decided by the Delegates on the National Convention of the party. These delegates are won by the candidates at the primaries of the various states. The delegates announcing their allegiance to the candidate based on the primary results. After the Iowa caucus, the next state was won by Sen. Bernie Sanders and was followed by Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
After a few months, it was clear that the fight was only between Former Vice president Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders. At one side people had a Revolution headed by Sen. Bernie Sanders with promises like free healthcare, free college education, wiping the student loan debt of 2 trillion dollars, and also taking a fight with all big corporations. And on the other, it was Vice President Joe Biden he was moderate with some special face in the people. He was a credible face because he was an important part of the Obama Administration. He also ran on some interesting Promises expanding Obamacare putting an end to Semi-Automatic guns. He has also promised two years of free college education shutting down the bases and making a withdrawal from the Middle east. On Aug 18 and 19, Joe Biden for President and Kamala Harris for vice president were officially nominated in the Democratic National Convention.

Let’s talk about whom they are fighting against It’s the current  president Donald John Trump. President Trump got elected in Nov 2016 it was a controversial decision. After President Trump came into he tried to strip many of Obama's era decisions. The Trump administration was also a scandal administration many scandals came out from the Russian collusion to the Ben Carson one. President Trump also fired many of the key campaign and cabinet officials. President Trump had also a key role in the 30 plus day Government shutdown because he feuded with congress over controversial Wall funding. In the Trump administration, the United States also withdrew from key agreements and resolution. Like the Paris Accords, the Human rights Council and also in midst of the pandemic United States took a fight with the World Health Organization (WHO). One of the major achievements of the Trump Administration was having good ties with India whether it be a Howdy Modi rally in Houston, Texas, or a Namaste Trump Event in India. But that also took a hit in the recent presidential Debate when President Trump called Indian Air Filthy.

Now to the question of who’s going to win this election will it be The Nationalist and Make America Great Again President Trump or on the other hand, there is Vice President Joe Biden a credible face of the democratic party, the Obama Administration, and a reliable face in the US senate from more than 30 years.

The answer to this question lies with the 330 million Americans and I would also leave it with you….

Who do you think would win?
President Trump or Vice President Biden...
